Tim's Blog: Jobless Recovery?

Jobless Recovery?

What is a Jobless Recovery???  It is where we claim that he recession is over and that everything is back to normal.  Manufacturing, housing and retail sectors are back to business and we are fine.

Are you kidding!!!

If I am out of work there is no recovery, being jobless is a very serious situation.  Jobs give us the money to spend to purchase the things that are made.  Houses, cars, groceries, goods, stocks, anything that makes this economy work.  How else could we have a recovery?  I guess if we were exporting goods to other countries and they had the jobs to purchase our stuff.  That is not happening.

What about government paying us (unemployment or welfare) but government does not have money unless it taxes us and takes it from those that have it and give it to those who don't.  Or government could keep printing money until the dollar is worthless.  Either way that does not work, therefore, without jobs we only have a false recovery.  Do not tell me we have a jobless recovery

The economists tell us that the unemployment rate is now over 10 percent and climbing.  More people are losing jobs and getting poorer.  Therefore, spending less on everything including taxes.  So we have less taxes and fewer people working and the projections are that next year there will be more out of work than this year or jobless rate is climbing.  NO RECOVERY

I'm with you on this one I keep hearing the same thing we are in a recovery-how can this be when the jobless rate keeps getting bigger and bigger. We may be better but not in a recovery.

Tim - The politicians want us to believe their programs have been successful, and that's why they keep looking for any signs of recovery.  Middle America knows there's no recovery. While the GDP numbers pick up a bit, they were at the bottom--it's easy for them to show some improvement.

We now have about 20% of the working population either out of work or underemployed and are adding more than 125,000 each month to the workforce.  Until we show positive jobs growth, there is no recovery.

John it is true that we are in more trouble than the politicians want us to believe.  Why is the news media not reporting the news, are they all positive thinkers?  By that I mean do they believe if they give the truth recovery won't happen.  Don't answer I know news only travels on negative information.  So again I ask, "Why are they not looking into this."

The Banksters are just finishing up raping and raiding the pension funds.  Once that process is complete, we will see another huge drop in the financial markets.  It is going to get much worse before it gets better.

Recovery means different things to different people in different situations. I know the past 3 years have been rough but today is much better. I feel very fortunate nowadays.

Be careful because what we are being told is there is a recovery and today FHA is low on reserves and that helped fuel were we are currently in mortgage lending.
